Copp’s map of Istria is the oldest preserved provincial map of the Istrian peninsula; it is dated back to 1525. For a whole hundred years, it maintained its primacy among the presentations of Istria and, due to its quality, accuracy, realistic data and usefulness, was the basis for all further depictions of Istria.
